New Year Resolutions 2022 (Part 3)

Please see the previous post for the first two resolutions.

R3. Buy a house in UK.

I will abandon this resolutions because my GF's family came across a financial problem. I have to help her out every month, which makes me unable to stick to my plan.

R4. Learn a new language: Thai language

G4) Learn a new Thai word/sentence every day, i.e. 365 new words/sentences in total

R5. Write a blog: Update this blog 5 times/month

There are six series on my blog right now:

All series except Financial Updates (which is quarterly) will be done monthly.

New Year Resolutions 2022 (Part 2)

I will break down the first two resolutions into SMART goals.

R1. Earn and save more money: total saving +$300k

->  Monthly saving > $25k

-> Monthly gross income - Monthly personal expense - Monthly support to my GF > $25k

    G1a) Monthly personal expense = $10k~$13k

    G1b) Side hustle income = $25k~35k

R2. Lose weight: 63.5kg -> 60kg

-> Monthly weight loss= 3.5/12= ~0.3kg

    G2a) No sugary food and drinks for 5 days/week

    G2b) Intermittent fasting for 3 days/week

    G2c) Simple home workout every day

[NEW PROJECT] Crypto DCA Experiment 2022/Jan

In this project, I will buy around US$100 of the top 10 cryptocurrencies.

2021 has passed. Here comes 2022.

Regular Financial Updates 2021 Q4

 Hi guys!

This is Jerry, the author of this blog! I decided to post the total asset I have so that you guys could witness my journey.

This is the FINAL quarter asset report of 2021:

I made it! I reached the 2 million milestone at the age of 29. I should give myself a medal because I worked so hard this year! 

To be honest, this is not the results of good investment strategy and skills, but the fruits of my hustling and budgeting. Every month I generated an extra income of $15-20k from working side hustles and saved around 65% of all my income.

While some said FIRE is impossible, I still believe it is worth a try. Even if I fail, it will be a fruitful journey.

As for the plan of 2022, I changed my mind. I will not make a youtube channel, but I will make something else. Details will be shown in the post tomorrow!

This is the belated THIRD quarter asset report of 2021:

Though it may be too early to say this, I am quite sure I will meet my financial target this year. Recently I have been reading more about cryptocurrencies. While I believe crypto will be part of the future, I am still thinking about what to write on this blog. I don't want to just summarize and rephrase all the 101 information. On the other hand, I am also interested in opening a Youtube channel where I can share my FIRE journey in another format.

Since my eczema and back pain is under control, I spent much less on seeing doctors and Chinese medicine practitioners. Good health is so expensive!

I will expect the expenses of December will be the average of these four months. Let's see!

Thanks to my side hustle income. the yearly goal is very likely to be met. Since the future of HK is very uncertain, I will keep my best to earn and save as much money as I can. While I will continue to save for an apartment, I will restart contributing some of my saving to ETFs. I will keep you guys updated!

Another all-time high this month. I went to have a MRI of my lower spine and started seeing Chinese Medicine Practitioner. My back was getting better slowly. It is likely I will continue to see CMP for the coming two months. Hope my expenses will go down next month.
