Monthly Investment Summary 2021/Jan

Hi guys! Even though the market is getting higher and higher, I have stayed investing last month.
Yet, I didn't buy all the tickers I plan to buy. I will wait a little bit longer and see what will happen next.

Monthly Investment Plan - US stocks 10/10/2020

After some deep thoughts and back test, here is my finalised strategy: I will continue to contribute some ETFs such as VOO, QQQ, VXUS, VWO, VGIT, VGLT, ARKK and ARKW. Meanwhile, I will buy V and MA every month. Besides, I will buy AMZN every 6 months. As for the other stocks such as TTD and DIS, I will buy a few shares and hold at least 5 years. In short, my plan is to buy and hold index ETFs with a handful of individual stocks.

TOTAL: $11284.09

Monthly Investment Plan - HK stocks 7/9/2020

I will stop contributing 435 and 3140. For 435, it is because the future of HK is very uncertain. I do not want to bet on it. For 3140, it is because Vanguard will quit the HK market, which is a surprise for me. I sold some of it because of the same reason. The money will be invested to VOO on a monthly basis.

Monthly Investment Plan - US stocks 8/8/2020

I didn't update this part of my portfolio for a long time because I didn't invest any of my money until a recent time. I did some trading. I won some money and lost some money. Then I realise trading stocks is not really my thing. It is exciting, but it hurts my mind and hard-earned capitals. Therefore, I restarted this long term investment plan. You can see the portfolio now is more balanced. I plan to have more tech ETF and precious metal ETFs later, but I will stop contribute to VOO since I am contributing 3140 in the HK stock market. I hope this portfolio will bring me average 10% capital gain every year in the long run.

Monthly Investment Plan - HK stocks 8/8/2020

I read some articles and watched some videos about the future of the world. Though I still believe the price of the property stocks will rise again in the future, they cannot compete with those tech stocks. Therefore, I sold 823 last month. I will keep contribute to 435, 12, 16 and 2800 until I collected a whole lot of shares. Then I will sell them when their price reach a certain level. As for 3140, I will keep contributing since it represents the US part of my portfolio.

Monthly Investment Plan - HK Property stocks 8/7/2020

I will stop contributing to 823 and observe its performance for a while, but I won't sell it now. Its fundamentals still look good if the impact of the pandemic is excluded. For 435, I will stop contributing when I collected 3000 shares. As for 12 and 16, I will stop contributing when I collected a complete lot of shares. They are good companies and cheap now, but in the long run they will likely lose to those technology related China company.

Monthly Investment Plan - HK ETF 8/7/2020

The second wave of the pandemic is hitting Hong Kong, but the stock market is more optimistic due to many China factors. I will continue to contribute these two ETFs and I am looking forward to 9988 becoming a HSI stock in August.

Monthly Investment Plan - HK Property stocks 23/4/2020

Will the market go even deeper? I don't know but I will prepare for the worst scenario. Luckily, I have found an extra freelance job recently. My income has increased a little bit.

Monthly Investment Plan - HK ETF 23/4/2020

It seems the rebound is over. Yet, for me, nothing will change so far. The plan will continue as long as my income stays the same.

Monthly Investment Plan - US 7/4/2020

On one hand, some said this is phase 2 of the bear market. On the other hand, the governments worldwide are trying to save the economy in an unprecedented scale. As a young and innocent investor, I will stick to my investment plan. The next investment day should be 23/4/2020.

Monthly Investment Plan - Introduction (US)

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we all enter a bear market. While some are still panic, I decided to start my investment plan since this is probably a good window to buy stocks in a cheaper price. However, no one could predict how low the price will be. Therefore, I will use dollar cost averaging technique. Each month USD 1000 will be invested in VOO. Since I use Firsttrade Securities, there will be no trading fee charged by the broker. I will split the $1000 into two, with one buying on 5th trading day of the month and another on 15th trading day, so as to further diverge the timing risk.

I hold some VOO before I start this plan:

This plan will last for 12 months. After that, I will consider if I continue or not.

Some might think I am crazy to enter the market at this timeframe. What do you think? What is your plan during the bear market? Please let me know and comment below!

Monthly investment plan - Introduction (Hong Kong)

I think most people are shocked about what happened to the stock market last week. At first, I was shocked and worried as well, but then I realize this may be a rare opportunity for me to buy some stocks. Therefore, I decided to invest in the market now using dollar cost averaging.

I will invest a fixed amount of money (HKD$2000) each month under the monthly stock investment plan (MIP) of Chief Securities Ltd. There will be zero fees charged by this broker. Only $5.15 will be charged to pay for the tax each time. The plan allows me to buy twice a month (on the 5th and 15th trading day).

I will invest in two ETFs- 2800 and 3140. I have held these two ETFs before I started this plan this month:

Yes... I am losing money but it is tolerable for me as I am still earning income from my full time job. I plan to invest for 12 consecutive months because I think the impact of the virus will last at least one year. I will consider if I continue this plan or not after 12 months.

Besides, I will invest in 6 different stocks twice each month using the same plan ($3000/month):
REITs: 823, 435
Properties stock: 16, 12

I only hold some stocks of 823 while I hold none of others:

That's it! This is my plan under a bear market. What do you think? Do you think this is a wise decision for me? Please comment below and let me know!
